FAMILY MATINEE: INTERNATIONAL BODY MUSIC FESTIVAL'S HAMBONE SUMMIT



    

This supergroup of Hambone artists weaves an enthralling narrative of stoy and song around the traditional African-American Hambone rhythms. While expressing the joy of the art, they tell Hambone's historical origin in response to oppression, and deep connection to family and community.The program is highly participatory, and features outstanding California Hambone artists Danny"SlapJazz" Barber, Audrey Robinson, and her grandson Joseph, Unique Derique & the Hambone Kids, and famed Oakland storyteller Diane Ferlatte.

Family Workshop: Hambone! Will follow the 11/9 matinee at 12:10pm

A limited number of free tickets are available to Bay Area school groups.
